MDF2ISO Released

I have had it sitting around for a while as an incomplete, but functional droplet so finally decided to release it!
MDF2ISO converts Alcohol 120% (MDF) disk images to ISO images; which you can respect as being useful if you have ever downloaded an MDF image and tried opening it on your Mac. This droplet should work as a Universal Binary (although I don't have a PPC Mac to test it on. Please e-mail me if you can't get it working on a PPC Mac and maybe we can work together to fix it.
Finally I need a good icon for MDF2ISO! If you are an artist and can think of a good one then please send it over and I'll credit you.
You can download MDF2ISO from here.

Correct Sound Balance

After some time of being frustrated by a bug in OS X whereby the sound balance randomly changes when I change the system volume using the keyboard controls whilst iTunes is playing I have finally decided to make a dirty fix for the bug. 'Correct sound balance' is my fix to this bug and you can find it here.
If you find a smoother fix or this helps you to create a smoother fix then don't hesitate to contact me.

Javagear Widget Beta Released

With the success of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy widget (thanks for all the e-mails, I'm working on fixing the game saving problem) DJ Gamble has decided to create another widget that falls into the category of being an emulator/interpreter. The new widget is called Javagear, and is a Sega Mastersystem/Gamegear emulator written using Java. Thanks goes to Chris White for doing the hard work in creating the original 'Javagear' and distributing it under the GPL.
This widget is far from complete, so if you have any problems with it please post them in the Discussion Forum rather than e-mailing me to avoid repeated bug reports. If anyone feels they can help with this widget, I'd gladly accept it in the following areas:
- Creating a back panel for the widget which replaces the clunky controls on the front.
- Finding a cleaner photo of a gamegear (the current one has muck all over it).
As with all emulators please don't ask me for any ROMs because the simple answer is that I can't tell you. However there are a few public domain ROMs for Javagear over here.

Blob Radio Widget Released

Live365 is an excellent service for people who run online radio stations, as a service to particularly fine radio station which uses Live365, DJ Gamble has just released a new widget (which you can grab yourself a copy of in the Downloads Section). The new widget (Blob Radio) displays track information for Blob Radio, a station where DJ Gamble is often a guest DJ. This is exciting news for those who run Live365 stations because it can easily be modified to work with any other Live365 radio station. Blob Radio is also really cool, so check it out then download the widget!
In the near future there are plans for this widget to mutate into a generic Live365 widget, so keep checking back for updates if you are a Live365 radio owner.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Widget Released

With all the celebrations about our first Softpedia award, DJ Gamble has decided to release a new widget. This one is probably the funniest widget released by this site to date. Some of our veteran readers will remember playing the old Infocom game (by the same title), using the latest version of ZPlet we have been able to bring this game back through our widget. Hope you all enjoy our little treat!
